What is the Lions Club?
 

Lions Clubs International  is a secular service organisation with over 44,500 clubs and more than 1.3 million members in 203 countries around the world. Headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois in the United States the organisation aims to meet the needs of communities on a local and global scale. Blaby District Lions Club was formed in 1987 with the object of serving the community whilst deriving enjoyment from its activities and the fellowship of its members. It has become one of the premier service organisation in the district. Please see About Us for more details.

Since the club was founded in 1987 it has raised over £120,000 for local and national charities. In 2009 Blaby Lions raised £6,732 for Children in Need. As well as raising cash many members also give their time to help local organisations such as care homes and groups working with the homeless.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
It's not all work!
 
Lion members, their families and friends also enjoy an active social calendar. This includes visits to local places of interest such as breweries, garden centres and local businesses, formal and informal meals, guided walks and talks. See our Calendar page for details.
